GBP/JPY rises back above 173.00

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The GBP/JPY printed a fresh daily high during the last trading hour in Wall Street at 173.39, hitting the strongest level since last Thursday. The Pound is having the best day in almost two week against the Yen.

Despite the decline in the USD/JPY, the GBP/JPY managed to rise strongly particularly during the European and the American session.

GBP/JPY from 2-week lows to 2-day highs

On Asian horus the pair bottomed at 172.35, the lowest level since June 13, the stabilized and during the European session gained momentum after rising above 172.80 and extended gains during Wall Street, rising to the highest level in two days.

The GBP/JPY currently trades near the highs, at 173.35, up 0.37% for the day and about post post the strongest close in a week.
