USD/RUB retakes 65.00 and above on oil drop
The greenback is extending its bullish momentum vs. its main rivals today, now lifting USD/RUB to session highs beyond the 65.00 handle.
USD/RUB up on oil gains, Fedspeak eyed
Spot is climbing to multi-day highs as the ongoing rout in crude oil prices continue to weigh on RUB. In fact, the barrel of Brent crude is shedding more than 2% to levels below the $47.00 mark.
In addition, the greenback has reverted its negative start and is now up smalls, collaborating with the upside and extending last Friday’s up move.

USD/RUB levels to watch
At the moment the pair is advancing 0.60% at 65.20 facing the next hurdle at 65.97 (high Sep.1) followed by 67.15 (high Jun.14) and finally 68.81 (200-day sma). On the other hand, a breach of 63.58 (low Sep.8) would aim for 63.41 (low Aug.18) and then 62.75 (low Jul.14).
