UK FTSE slumps as Brexit concerns resurface

UK stocks plummeted on Wednesday as Brexit fears worsened after more London asset managers suspended trading in property funds due to a sharp increase in redemptions as investors' rush for the exit gathers momentum.

The FTSE 100 lost 80.76 points, or 1.25%, to 6,463.59, closing at the lowest level in a week. Leading losses were banking sector and Britain's biggest grocers.

However, despite fears surrounding the Brexit, UK’s FTSE 100 index has gained around 2%  since June 23rd, outperforming other global stock markets.
