ECB raises ELA cap for Greece banks to EUR 75.5 billion – Handelsblatt

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The German daily newspaper Handelsblatt reported on Wednesday that the European Central Bank has increased the funds available Greek banks under the Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) scheme by about EUR 1.5 billion.

The increase takes the ELA ceiling to 75.5 billion euros, the paper said on Wednesday. So far, the ECB has not commented on the same, however, the bank has raised the cap in increments, while keeping pressure on Greece to strike deal with its creditors.
