ECB meeting, a ‘non-event’? – TDS
FXStreet (Edinburgh) - Strategists at TD Securities think there is no room for surprises in next week’s ECB meeting.
Key Quotes
“This should be a fairly uneventful meeting with no new forecasts to talk around”.
“Draghi will be asked about how the ECB found buying in the first month, and there is a risk there given most of the illiquidity was found in SSAs that the ECB has now had time to do further due diligence and could expand the list of eligible issuers to help on that front”.
“But Draghi will remain far from suggesting any taper of the pace of buying, and will likely continue to repeat that the optimistic forecasts assume full implementation of the current program”.
